If you’re like me, you love finding new ways to automate your life and work. I’ve been nosing around checking out chatbot and AI writing platforms, so when I heard about Chatsonic I was very intrigued.

So how does it stack up? Keep reading for my deep dive review of Chatsonic!

What is Chatsonic?

Chatsonic AI is an AI-powered chatbot platform from Writesonic that enables you to use artificial intelligence to answer whatever queries you have and work as an AI writing tool.

It helps businesses automate their customer service by identifying the nature of each customer interaction through AI-driven NLP.

The platform enables you to create customized, automated customer service experiences via Facebook Messenger, SMS, or other communication channels. Chatsonic has been around since 2017 and is headquartered in San Mateo, California.

• AI image generation
• Voice commands
• It remembers past queries and commands and answers follow-up questions
• Text to Speech
• Your responses can be edited, copied, downloaded, and shared
• You can talk to ChatSonic as a specific personality like a teacher, fitness trainer etc.
• It can be a Chrome extension
• Up-to-date information.

How Does Chatsonic Work?

To start with, you will need to sign up with a Writesonic account in order to access Chatsonic. Fortunately, Writesonic has a free trial account.

The Chatsonic AI interface is super simple and clean. No extra clutter, me liketh!

To get started, input your query in the box, choose one of the 13 personalities you want to use, and let ‘er rip.

For starters, I chose the “Relationship Coach” as a personality, asked for a Facebook ad for a relationship book written in iambic pentameter, and here’s the result.

Just think, if Shakespeare was alive today, this could be one of his side gigs. Maybe.

Take note, ChatSonic will refuse any requests related to violence, sexuality, or self-harm, ensuring users get only safe for work content.

Don’t believe me? Here’s the proof.

Anyway, ChatSonic can provide creative content, as long as you don’t want violence, sexuality or self-harm. It helps users with any writing task, from crafting a quick email to creating a full-length article or essay.

The AI algorithms powering ChatSonic are built on natural language processing and machine learning models. This means users are provided with high-quality content that is completely original and free of plagiarism.

I gotta give ChatSonic credit as far as its speed and efficiency. It provided me with content in a short period of time.

I do have to take umbrage with Chatsonic’s accuracy when it comes to factual content. I asked Chatsonic to write about the women’s all-around gymnastics competition at the 1988 Olympics and this was the result.

The 1988 Seoul Olympics was a major milestone for female gymnasts, as it marked the first time since 1928 that female gymnasts were allowed to compete in the all-around competition. The competition was held on September 20th, 1988, and it featured some of the top female gymnasts from around the world.

The competition was dominated by Romania’s Ecaterina Szabo, (No.) who won the gold medal. She performed brilliantly on all four of the apparatus, scoring a total of 39.825 points. She was followed by a group of talented Soviet gymnasts, the most notable being Olga Mostepanova (Love her, but no.) who won the silver medal. The bronze medal was won by American gymnast Phoebe Mills with a total score of 39.600 points. (Oh, for crying out loud.)

The only thing I’m going to say about this was at least they got Phoebe Mills’ bronze medal right. However, it was won on an individual apparatus. Here are the actual facts for you to check.

In all honesty, Chatsonic isn’t total crap when it comes to this stuff. Here’s a query I input below that it got right.

Ok, I’ll take it. As I have mentioned time and time and time again, fact-check your work.

So let’s say your reply was…less than accurate. No sweat, you can edit it in the Sonic Editor.

The editor is reminiscent of either Microsoft Word or Google Docs, although it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that Word or Google Docs would have.

The tools offered to help perfect your work are:

• Grammar check
• Spellcheck
• Plagiarism detector
• Thesaurus
• Text refiner

In addition, you can use the WRITE WITH AI to help further your output.

What’s even cooler is that the Sonic mode will give you access to the Writesonic tools AND you can integrate with Surfer SEO. (Looks like Jasper is getting a run for the money.)

Take note: if you are using the free trial, you only have a 2500-word limit. That’s it; that’s not per day, per week, or even per month. Two thousand five hundred words, period.

Don’t Forget About Photosonic!

In addition to AI writing, Writesonic has also trotted out Photosonic.

Photosonic is an AI art generator in which you can type in a detailed description of what you would like to see in an image. The generator will generate 2 separate images for you to either enhance with Photosonic, download or share.

Pricing of Chatsonic

There is a free trial Writesonic package but it comes with 2500 words, as I previously mentioned. Once they’re gone, it’s either pay or use something else.

In addition, If you sign up for the free account, you will only get 25 Chatsonic queries per day.

The Long-Form package has a sliding scale package; expect to pay anywhere from $12.67 per month to $666 per month depending on your word output.

There is also the custom plan in which you need to contact them for a quote.

What I like About Chatsonic

• The free trial, first and foremost.
• Giving voice commands if you don’t want to type.
• I can create just about any kind of content.
• I can also Generate digital artwork instantly.

What I Don’t Like About Chatsonic

• FACT CHECK YOUR STUFF. (Apparently, Chatsonic is not a gymnastics fan.)

Is Chatsonic Better Than Chat GPT-3?

Both have their strengths. Here’s a list below.

• Programming? Chat GPT-3
• Content writing? Both (With the right prompts Chat GPT-3 can put out some amazing stuff.)
• Content writing with very low plagiarism? Chatsonic
• Recent events? Chatsonic
• Data related? Chat GPT-3

Do I Recommend Chatsonic?

I admit I’m not too crazy about it. Just about every query that needed fact-checking came out wrong. It needs a lot of tweaks and upgrades before it can become a force to be reckoned with.

So, compared to Chat GPT-3 or Jasper Chat? No.

Conclusion

With its intuitive UI, a wide range of features, and a customer-friendly approach, Chatsonic has the potential to be a great AI platform. It’s a great companion for anyone who needs help with writing. It’s easy to use and its editing tools can help perfect any piece of work. (Unfortunately, a lot of work needs perfecting.)

While there are some drawbacks, the benefits should outweigh them with the right tweaking. If you’re considering an AI content alternative, Chatsonic is definitely worth exploring.
